Forró Festival Sereia - Barcelona

The forth edition of the Sereia Festival will take place in Barcelona from February 2 to 4, 2024, coinciding with the Yemanjá and La Candelaria celebrations. The Sereia Festival is an event that seeks to celebrate the connection between Brazilian popular culture and the city of Barcelona.

One of the highlights of the festival is the forró, a traditional couple's dance from the northeast of Brazil that has conquered hearts and feet throughout Europe. But beyond forró, we want to promote and publicize other traditional Brazilian manifestations and rhythms, such as frevo, maracatu, coco, ijexá, ciranda and others with a great African influence.

The Festival will offer forró dance classes - the couple's dance that has conquered Europe - which is the symbol of the interculturality of the event, and other styles of traditional rhythms and dances. There will also be free activities for all audiences - families, residents of Barcelona, ​​and an inclusive music program starring women.
